Since
1975 when the first 110 litre wheeled bin has
been launched, the range of wheeled bins has been
considerably extended. Today, Plastic Omnium
Urban Systems offers a range of 17 wheeled bins -
80 to 1,700 litres.
True to its innovative tradition, products available
have been developed using innovative, patented concepts
offering the right solutions for increasingly complex
waste management systems.

Numerous technical improvements have been made to the products.
Amongst the most recent innovations are:
- 1992 : partitioned 180 and 260 litre bins for selective
door-to-door collection
- 1994 : new design 2 wheeled bins, known as "Citybac", with
high-performance sound-proofing system

Citybac :
The 360-litre Citybac is fitted with a brand
new " air-cushion " sound-proof system on
the lid. A patent for its innovative features and performance
has currently been registered with the INPI (French
National Institute for Industrial Property).

Volontary bringing
Within a stricter legislative framework,
greater citizen awareness of the environmental challenge,
selective collection by voluntary sorting has seen an
upsurge over the past few years.
Plastic Omnium's expertise in the field of waste management
and also in that of pre-collection, combined with its
industrial know-how, have led us to adopt an innovative
approach for equipment for pre-collection by voluntary
sorting. On the principle that this type of collection
must be approached globally, we have observed that for
it to succeed it has to take account not only of the
type of residential area, but also of the urban background.
This is why Plastic
Omnium has developed two ranges of products:

The first one, Prima
Linea Select is a very new range of
selective collection banks which joins new aesthetic
and environmental purposes.
Designed by the firm of Architects Ricardo Bofill,
Prima Linea Select is attractive, easy-to-use
and very resistant.
Through its conception, Prima Linea Select takes
care of the environment and helps local authorities
to communicate about recycling.
3 volumes are available : 2m3, 3,5m3, 4,5m3.
For every purpose for selective collections, Prima
Linea Select offers the best adapted model.

The second, Citybulle, is a group of
containers located at ground level. Available
in volumes of 3m3 and 4m3, the Citybulle range
exists with standard lifting/emptying systems.
It is also available in a version which has
been specifically designed for the collection
of used oil.

The third, known as Cityspot,
is the first underground container on the French
market: another innovation from Plastic Omnium.
With Cityspot, only an opening for waste materials
is visible at ground level, making this product
well suited to town centres, historical, pedestrian
or protected sites where large volume containers
are unsightly.
